Saturday progress….

Saturday morning, we found that Russ is continuing to make progress. He is feeling more and more as each day goes by. It’s so exciting!
He complained that the pad on the bed had created a ‘Wedgie’..and he could feel it!! Woo hoo!! He was asked if he could clench is butt cheeks. He looked like he was thinking for a few moments, then nodded his head ‘Yes’!! Wow…that is significant! He is doing great! The vent is still in, but he was breathing on his own and maintaining good blood/oxygen levels. Sunday may see the vent removed. He had several visitors today. Visits are brief of course. He tires easily..and if he’s ready for a break, we let him rest. But he enjoys seeing all who come to the hospital.
They are talking of moving him to a different room in the ICU..one with a window view! That may happen tomorrow evening.
Saturday night was the second benefit show. Location was Sokol Underground. 5 bands played. People came in and pitched into the donation box and purchased the Russ buttons made by Freddie. Thanks Freddie! A little over $700 was donated from the show and button sales! Thank you all so very, very much!! The support for Russ is fantastic..and makes us all feel very humble.
When you visit please help consume the vast quantities of snacks that have been provided…!!
